My favorite thing about living in a city is that everything is an arm’s reach away. Last weekend Sam and I strolled in the rain across Memorial Park by the NYS Museum; through Empire State Plaza to that funny shaped building they call The Egg, (while everyone else was trying desperately to find a parking spot and getting lost in the eerie parking garage).
Daniel Tosh, a comedian and host of Tosh.0 on Comedy Central (airs Thursdays 10pm) was performing. Sam said he saw his show, which pokes fun of video clips on the internet and thought it was amusing. So, when Tosh came to the Capital Region Sam thought it would be a fun “romantic evening” for us. Why he used the word “romantic” to describe a night of laughing at the idea of how awesome is would be if we could fabreeze the homeless; or laughing at how big the Octo Mom’s vagina is after fourteen kids would be “romantic” is beyond me. But it was great evening to do something together even if the gesture wasn’t leading towards a dreamy or romantic evening.
I will say, the show was funny in a disturbing, twisted sort of way, making fun of things that honestly should never be laughed at. Nonetheless the audiences, including myself and Sam were laughing.
Here is a clip – (please don’t read if you are offended by profanity – I will repeat – WARNING BAD LANUAGE): Daniel Tosh interviews his audience
