Every year employees at my job gear up for the Junior Achievement Bowl-And-Drink-A-Thon Del Lanes that we host in Delmar, NY. We sign up a month in advance to bowl on a team, and each team has to raise a certain amount of money, in order hit our goal dollar amount. The night of event we have more than half the bowling alley filled with colleagues from my work. The event is for a great cause, and we always have a fabulous time hanging out with each other.

For some strange phenomena, this event (although very much aimed at raising money for Junior Achievement) has become one big party. Whoever said bankers are not fun was very, very wrong.

A Friday night ritual for me and my girls has been sitting at Wolff’s Biergarten, drinking endless amounts of wine. Three women, three hours and three bottles of white wine later – it was time for bowling. When I say “drinking,” I mean there has to be some award given to people who consume this much. (My liver is no longer my friend.) We had a lot of fun – and if you want the juicy details of the event you will just have to sponsor me next year.

The next morning my head felt like someone ran it over with a Mack truck, yet astonishingly, I will probably support the cause again next year – and have way more fun, (while encouraging people to donate to a good cause, of course).
