    Memorial Day weekend-

Sunday afternoon we took a joy ride out to Sam’s mom’s house in Hubbardsville, NY, and it was great to be away from the city for a night. I’m not sure who had more fun, Sam or Molly, as they were both running around all day. Molly definitely enjoyed country life. She rolled around in the fresh cut grass and ventured off into the woods. When she got hot she splashed in the stream and even sat down for a few minutes in the cool water, until eventually she turned into one big mud pie. Sam, on the other hand, played frisbee and badmitten for hours with his sisters. He even has the black and blue to prove his impressive dive. All day we grilled and cooked delicious tasty treats, like rosemary chicken, marinated London broil, duck wings and Asian grilled sausage. Although some dishes were tastier than others, all were an adventurous treat. For sides, we had a delicious homemade potato salad and an incredible broccoli salad, which will both be at out next city grill-out. Sam and I brought a fresh fruit salad with mango, star fruit, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, banana and honey due. Dessert was a delectable strawberry and blueberry shortcake. For drinks we drank a new twist on rum punch, which consisted of dark rum, simple syrup, water and freshly squeezed lime juice. Smiles never left our faces.

On the way to the house, we hit a million and one bugs, so we decided to wash the MINI- on the way home it rained and we hit another million and two bugs.

    …..or maybe not

Monday may be my new favorite day of the week- well I won’t go that far.

Today, Sam and I purchased tickets to Carriacou, West Indies, and I am ecstatic! IN order to make up for not going last year, we are staying TWO weeks [15 NIGHTS]- count them TWO weeks- . We leave 6:30 AM on December 27th- the day after my birthday. Six months is a long time to wait for rum punch, white sand and snorkeling, but it is worth the wait.

In addition to our confirmation of our amazing trip to Carriacou, my auto body shop called this afternoon, and I can pick up my MINI Cooper tomorrow! After two weeks of driving the MINI with one head light and two weeks of driving around a boatmobile, gas guzzler rental, she is FIXED!

The past 72 hours have been very surreal. Saturday night at the restaurant was very predictable, and I arrived home at around 12 am. Throughout the night I grabbed scrapes of meat that was left uneaten. Since, Molly refuses to eat anything but her dog food I thought it would be a good idea to feed her at least once this week.

    bad idea

She ate it so fast that she fell over on her plate in convulsions, choking on the steak. I screamed– but Sam jumped to Molly’s side, stuck his finger in her throat and pulled the meat out. My heart thumbed for about an hour after ward.

Then around 4 am– I woke in the night, startled by something. What I saw happened to be the funniest thing that I have ever seen. But I will never talk about it again– after this point moment.

The next morning, Sam and I decided to go out for some breakfast at the Gateway dinner on Central Ave. As we were walking down the hill I decided to fall to the ground [in slow motion]-, while doing so I managed to skin my knees and rip my jeans. The breakfast isn’t worth mentioning.
