Less than a year ago we discovered cute fuzzy visitors on the back deck, but after a while they weren’t so cute anymore. They dug up our plants and ate the grill hose [twice]. Over the winter they proceeded to be even more of a nuisance, eating our wooden chairs, lattice, t-light candles…wax, metal and all, Christmas tree lights, and more…
This spring we decided to be prepared. Our landlord, Dave, bought a squirrel trap, and within 24 hours we caught three! This morning I saw about four or five scurrying around, and it made me infuriated… I was ready to switch to poison. Sam assured me we could remove them unharmed, and so we have. At first I felt like we were just passing out free peanut butter because some how the squirrels were eating the old oily peanut butter and escaping; however, it appears the humans have out smarted the little beasts.
Hopefully, this year we can be rodent free.
P.S. When Dave dropped the trap off he said he was hoping to replace our inefficient turn of the century wooden windows with new ones! Good-bye squirrels…Good-bye high electric bill.
