The month of May must have been a busy one- to snuggle up to your honey.

On Thursday January 17th, 2008 my cousin, Heather, and her hubby, Zeke, welcomed their first child Noah- born 8 lbs and some odd ounces. Daddy delivered the baby with the help of a midwife, and he even got to cut the umbilical cord. It was a 12 hour labor and an all natural birth with no pain killers and not even an IV stuck in her arm. She assured me that the Birth Center was located across the street from a Hospital if there was an emergency, and all midwives were licensed nurses. Although it wasn’t a water birth, half of the labor was spent in a bath tub. Heather explained the birth, “as an amazing experience,” and she described her tiny son as, “as the most beautiful thing she’s even seen.”

Meanwhile, my good friend, Jesse, and his wife, Brenna, welcomed their first child, Meghan Jane Williams on Friday 18th. Meghan was 6 lbs 1oz and 19 inches. Jesse must have followed in his parents foot steps, as he, too, was a May conception. He celebrated his 26th birthday on January 21st with his new baby girl. Both families assured me pictures will be coming soon.

Guess who else is having a birthday on January 25th, my very own Sammy [but we will keep that on the DL, since he is turning 30 and he's not too happy about it.] My sister, Kelly is also turning 29 on January 28th, and my cousin, Jillian will be 18. Woo-hoo for January. :-D

    Birthday wishes to all!

Finally, after a busy seven months at the Red Barn my Saturday nights are free [at least until May]. I kicked off my first free weekend with a night out with friends from work. We went to Midtown Tap & Tea Room, where several people offered to buy me drinks and shots because we were celebrating my bank promotion, graduation and 23rd birthday! Two and a half Tanqueray and tonics later, Millie, Paul and I had some chocolate cake (½ oz. frangelico, ½ oz. vodka and a sugar coated lemon. Probably the best shot that I have ever tasted- warm and fuzzy on the way down followed by some sweetness. The night ended with a bottle of wine and fresh margarita pizza at Pasqual’s- yummy.

Saturday started off with a bang, or at least that’s what my head felt like. Sam and I made are usually Saturday morning breakfast- scrambled eggs with sautéed onions, some fruit, garlic bread toast and tea. After lounging around the house all day- I met up with my friend Lena from HVCC, and we went shopping for a few hours, grabbed some dinner at Houlihan’s and later bawled our eyes out watching “P.S. I love you.” [P.S. I love Gerard Butler- WOW]

Sunday was a busy day too, after 2 hours of cleaning the fish tank, a few more pebbles down the garbage disposal, and a half an hour vacuuming animal hair- Sam and I went to brunch at Justin’s- always a great thing on an cloudy Sunday afternoon. Then it was back to shopping again at the mall, followed by dinner and a movie on the couch with Molly. The fish tank is glistening, by the way, and our fishies are very happy.

I can’t wait for next weekend. Only a hundred and twenty something more hours!
