It has recently occurred to me that I do not have a green thumb, which is why I will only buy cactuses now because you pretty much can’t kill them. This was my beautiful orchid [my favorite flower]:

The flowers wilted off a few months ago when I moved….and they’re suppose to grow back within a few months. I did everything the book said. I even put candle wax on its “wound” after I cut off the stems. But nooo.. My Venus fly trap pretty much withered away after I repotted it. It was flourishing, and so I decided to give it a home, a cozy terrarium. It’s dead. Also two other plants are now dead, and yeah the 4 jumbo plants on the back deck [that I spent a $100 bucks on, including new pots] are now turning brown.

However, I do have this cool little guy…It’s a sorrel.

    Sam gave it to me….aww

We thought it died, but it miraculously came back to life. During the day the leaves opens and grow towards the sun.
And the other good news is I have 4 healthy cactuses and 5 healthy bamboo stalks! Whoopee!

I always wanted to believe I had a green thumb. My mom’s friend gave me flowers once, which I planted in the front of our house. They didn’t last too long, I don’t think. I grew tomatoes once, but also after they were given to me. I never can grow anything from a seed. Good for you for your healthy stalks!
