You know you’re really young when you’re watching a comedy show with your boyfriend and he can’t relate to Gilbert Gottfried as being the voice of Iago, [the parrot on the Disney movie Aladdin] because it came out when you were 10 and he was 18. And seeing how there are like ony 3 other people who read this blog, and they are only a few years older than him I guess I’m alone on this one too!

Your boyfriend is only a year older than I am, and I know what you’re talking about when you say Iago the Parrot. However, I also knew who Gilbert Gottfried was before that. Boy, you ARE young.

Thanks. I think I’m doing OK for 42, despite a semi-mid-life crises thing that kicks into my head every now and then. 21-year old girl in a bar last week guessed me to be 32 (that made my day!). I know Gilbert for years. He’s been around forever on the stand-up comedy circuit, movies, other cartoon voices, on Howard Stern, etc. And I remember him in Aladdin, too, watched it many times.

Cute, but nah, not really. But young girls are friendly these days. I’m out with buddies, next thing you know, girl walks up, starts chatting with me……
